After five years of college, a newfound love for Matcha, and some of the worst winters in Boston’s history, for Alejandro and I, nothing seemed like a better idea than travelling to East Asia.
After two weeks of delicious food and beautiful scenery - albeit with overweight backpacks and numerous flight delays - we set out to a remote farm in Kagoshima, Japan, known among locals as:
“the holy-grail of organic agriculture”.
We were fascinated by the farmer’s compelling story, his family’s unconditional support, and his devotion to sustainable and organic agriculture. From then, all it took was one sip to convince us to bring home one of Japan’s most prized traditions.
